Built Around Your Child's Age
A great party for a three-year-old and a great party for a nine-year-old are completely different events. For toddlers we keep it short, shaded and soft: bubbles, parachute games and a smash-cake-style gentle programme with a quiet corner for naps and feeding. Ages 4–7 get the classic structure — free play while guests arrive, 40 minutes of hosted games, food, cake moment, then face painting and crafts as energy winds down. Ages 8–12 want missions: treasure hunts across the villa garden, pool games with our lifeguard on duty, and team challenges with actual prizes.
Heat is the detail visiting families underestimate. We schedule active games before 11:00 or after 16:00, keep craft and food stations in the shade, and always have a water-refill point. If your villa has a pool, upgrading to a pool party is the single most popular add-on — the lifeguard is always included, never an extra.

Where the Party Actually Happens
Nine out of ten kids' birthday parties we run in Bali happen at the family's own villa, and there is a good reason for that: it is free, it is private, the nap room is upstairs, and nobody is watching the clock. But it is not the only option, and for some families it is the wrong one.
Your villa or house
The default and usually the best. A garden gives us space for games, a pool adds the most popular upgrade on the island, and parents can step away for five minutes without leaving the party. What matters is shade, a flat area for the activity station, and a villa manager who allows events — we check that before confirming, and most of them already know us.
Beach clubs and restaurants
Good when you have no villa garden or when your guest list is bigger than your rental. You get staff, a kitchen and shade already in place, and you lose flexibility on decor, timing and noise. Expect a minimum spend rather than a venue fee. We cover the realistic options in our beach club guide.
School and community halls
Practical for large class parties, especially when most guests come from one school. Indoor means the weather stops mattering entirely — the trade-off is that the space is plain and needs real decor work to feel like a party.
The beach itself
Beautiful in photographs, demanding in practice. There is no shade unless we bring it, sand gets into food within minutes, and public beaches need local permission for a setup. We do run them — usually late afternoon, usually for older children — but we tell families honestly that a villa garden is easier for under-sixes.

Three hours is the sweet spot for ages four to ten. Shorter feels rushed once guests arrive late — and in Bali, guests arrive late. Longer and the youngest children melt down before the cake. This is the shape that works:

1:15–1:50 — food
Children eat when they are hungry, not on a schedule, so we open the food station and let the pace drop. Parents finally get a plate too.
1:50–2:10 — the cake moment
Everyone gathered, candles lit, one adult filming and one of our team making sure nobody is behind the camera. It is over in four minutes and it is the photo you keep.
2:10–3:00 — wind-down
Crafts, face painting, pool time or a quiet film corner. Goodie bags handed out at the door as guests leave.
Plus 45 minutes — we vanish
Everything packed, floors swept, furniture back where it was. You are left with leftovers, photos and a villa that looks untouched.
Food Children Actually Eat
The most common mistake at kids' parties in Bali is catering the food adults would enjoy. Children at a party graze — they eat in ninety-second bursts between games, standing up, with one hand busy.
What works: mini burgers and sliders, chicken skewers without sauce on them, fries served late so they are still hot, fruit skewers, plain pasta, mini pizzas and sandwiches cut small. What does not: anything that needs cutting, anything spicy, anything that melts in thirty degrees, and elaborate individual plated portions that end up in the bin.
We always ask for allergies in writing and confirm them back to you before the day — nut, gluten, dairy and egg allergies are handled as a separate prep line, not as a promise. Halal and vegetarian options are standard. And there is always a parents' table: adults at a kids' party have been standing in the heat for two hours, and a proper plate of food plus cold drinks is the difference between guests who leave at the two-hour mark and guests who stay.
What We Need From Your Villa
Nothing complicated, but confirming these in advance is what keeps setup calm:
- Permission for an event. Some villa contracts cap guest numbers or ban parties outright. One message to the manager settles it — we can send it for you.
- A shaded area for food and crafts. If the garden has none, we bring a canopy; we just need to know beforehand.
- Power within reach of the activity area — one standard socket is usually enough.
- Parking or drop-off space for the setup vehicle, and an idea of how many guest cars or scooters to expect.
- Pool access rules if there is a pool: depth, whether it is fenced, and whether the villa allows pool use by guests. Our lifeguard covers the rest.
- A rain plan. Any covered terrace, bale or indoor room big enough for the group. We design the decor so it can move under cover without looking improvised.
Rainy season, roughly November to March, is genuinely fine for parties — showers here are usually short and land in the afternoon. What matters is having the covered option agreed before the day rather than discovered at 15:00. Our rainy season guide goes through it properly.
Package Pricing
The Mini package starts from IDR 2,500,000 for up to 10 children: decor corner, birthday cake and a party host for two hours. Classic, our most-booked option, is IDR 4,500,000 for up to 20 children with full themed styling, entertainer, games and a sweet table.
